Female Models Wanted
Female models are always wanted. You have a trend nowadays that tries to looik down on female models: nothing seems to be all right anymore: the modelsĀ are to thin, to thick, to long, to short, … everybody has his or her own opinion why the female models should look differently. Hey, give them a break. Fashion trends come and go, and will keep doing so for ever! Americans have a bizarre take on the fashion industry. Especially the females. They watch endless fashion shows and read countless subscriptions to Vogue, Marie Claire, and Mademoiselle, but yet they bad mouth the female models ruthlessly. What is it about today’s female fashion models? Are they too thin, too attractive, too empty looking, too what? Maybe it’s the physical standard they set for the American women. If the average fashion model is a size 2 and the average American woman a size 13, where does that leave general society? Apparently with a lot of weight to shed.
I was watching my teenage daughter and her two friends flip through fashion magazines yesterday. They spoke about the clothing they liked and desired. But then they trashed plenty of the female models. I heard comments regarding how skinny the girls are, or how they’re probably on drugs. A whole lot of nit-picking. This made me sad, because I know what it means. The girls criticizing them aren’t happy with themselves. This is why they point out the supposed flaws of the female models instead. It makes them feel better. I would suppose most people do this to some point. The funny part to me concerns the fashion designers. Girls love their clothing, but trash their models. You should keep in mind that models are so skinny, because the designers demand it. They want a tall model with a beautiful and/or exotic look and a thin body that shows off their clothing; not the girls physique. The focus should go to the outfit being presented. This way the audience sees a cool outfit with a pretty face on top. Then they imagine that’s what it will look like on them. Sad but true.
The modeling industry is forever changing. You can always spot new female models on the catwalks or in fashion magazines. So if you’re looking to get into the business and think you have what it takes, check out the local agencies in your area. You can also use the Internet to your advantage to contact modeling agencies around the world and send them your photos and stats. There is always room for more male and female models. It’s a busy industry.
